Case study 2

"Liaison was conducted with the official authorities and the militias in control of the transportation route..."

"When UN can not move"

Background

Environment and situation

The situation in a Middle East country escalated rapidly into a civil war like situation. Airports and all borders closed and was controlled by armed militias. Three employees from a Scandinavian country were trapped inside the country and UN could not assist because of their own rules and restrictions.

Analyses

Anstey Group was contacted by the three individuals and after a discussion with the employees head quarter it was decided to bring them home. A risk assessment was done based on the information provided by the network Anstey Group has facilitated in the area. Liaison was conducted with the official authorities and the militias in control of the transportation route. The employees Embassy in the neighboring country was contacted and would receive the party on arrival. The transport was executed, protected and monitored until successful arrival in safety.

What was the effect?

  • The clients saved money by bringing the employees to their home office instead of having them hibernating in an area where work was impossible because of the security situation.

  • The client could focus on planning for the next step while the current situation were handled by a professional security consultant.

  • The client gained credibility by taking actions to protect their employees.

The employees were safely relocated by road to a neighboring country where they continued by regular air transportation to Europe.
